SSMII is 1" longer than the TRS, upper is the same dementions as TRS. SSMII lower has proven to actually be weaker than TRS, parts are extinct, props are 19 spline hard to find. If swapping from SSMII to TRS, propshaft height increases 1" -if swapping from SSMII to Konrad 540, propshaft height increases 2.78" (and typically requires a spacer) Hope this helps, Kurt

what Biggus said. TRSs in place of ssm2 with modern props works well.

Thanks, so replacing the SSM 2 lower with a TRS lower would work? What if any mods would be needed.

You can swap out the SSMII lower for a TRS but it's not a direct bolt-on. You must shim the lower to the upper (shims located behind the lower vert shaft bearing race. Not difficult but must be done or you are sure to have issues.
