Default Bravo driveshaft/coupler

Anyone know how far in the coupler the driveshaft goes on a bravo 1? Thanks

I can't speak exactly to your question - all I can say is that make sure you have PERFECT engine alignment. I just replaced the engine and outdrive (splines) on a 7.4 MPI and Bravo 3 system. It was rather expensive and it was all related to an engine alignment issue--

I just took delivery of a used Cobalt -- Beautiful boat- what we think may have happened is that the prior owner saw that an engine mount was loose - or looked that way to him - and just proceeded to tighten it down. What he did was change the alignment - putting stress on the coupler and outdrive shaft splines. Basically it just worn them off. Fortunately when it gave way we were on an inland lake and was easily towed to shore by a neighbor.

All the best
