XR advantage?
I am looking at making some improvements to my Scarab 22 this winter and was wondering if an XR lower or XR drive would be worth doing? The boat is a 98 with a fresh long block 350 Mag MPI, a 1.50 Bravo 1 and a 23p Mirage Plus prop. Boat runs 64-65 on handheld GPS. I am leaning towards a Procharger kit and EMI exhaust this winter also. I like the way the boat performs with the lower weight small block and think overall it will we better than with a big block. Any input is well appreciated. Thank you.

A bravo should live a very long life behind a 350 as long as its maintained with regular lube changes..Like 1000 hrs without a major failure.
If it doesn't have any problems, I would leave it alone.

As Griff said above there's really no advantage to your setup by changing to a std length XR.
You may pick up some MPH and handling though by going to a -2 inch Sportmaster XR' , assuming your X dimension is stock to begin.

I have 750 hours on 1997 Bravo 1s that are behind stock 502mpi mags that have never had anything done to them other than lube changes and broke down for inspection at around 550-600 hours.
