Of course! Why would you not? Synthetics are beyond superior to conventional gear lubes and oils. Personally, I use the Amsoil Severe Gear 75w110 in my XR's.

After my B1 was rebuilt under warranty with less than 100 hrs. I switched from Merc gear lube to Amsoil Severe GearŪ 75W-90. Put another 200+ hrs. on it with no problems. Before switching I would find metal particles on the plug magnet when I would service it but after the switch I never find as much as a trace.

Mercury just changed all gear lube to Mercury Racing Gear Lube. Different than their high performance stuff. This also replaced Torco for the SSM 6 drive as well.

If you are not running full synthetic, then you are not using the best available in my opinion. Been running M1 synthetic gear lube since 2001
