Bravo X Drive/Prop Tuning
I posted this in the Advantage section but not getting any action so I thought I might try again here. I have a 2008 25 Citation Bow Rider, 496 MAG HO/Bravo X. Installed CMI E-Tops and a 24p Bravo I prop. BBlades labbed that prop and I have been running 67.5 mph @ 5000 rpm with it. This weekend I tried a stock 26p Bravo I prop and I ran 66 mph @ 4650 rpm. Called BBlades to hear what they might be able to do to gain some rpm but playing phone tag with Brad.
Been reading up on shorty lowers to gain rpm/performance/reduce drag and it sounds like I might be a good candidate for one? My boat takes a lot of trim at speed - the sweet spot for the best top end is about 1-2 needle marks above half. I've read some threads on here about the pluses of -2 lower units on 27 and 28 Advantages and wondering if that might do the same for my 25?
Thanks for any advice.
