Yep, mercathode wire and not really a big deal in fresh water.

Ayuh,..... I believe it's called a continuity cable, which is part of the bondin' system, which is necessary to limit corrosion of the pieces,....

Mercathode or not, it helps with electrolysis,......

Boats, All boats use a bondin' system, which ties together All it's metal pieces exposed to water, to act as a single piece of metal,....
