Default Question for "Fat shaft" (1.25 prop shaft) owners

Stupid question...
I have recently upgraded to a IMCO -2 with a fat shaft and I can see no way to lock the prop nut.

I order a new 1.25" Flow Torque hub and when it arrived there is no locking washer and the hub does not appear to support the locking nut that I am used to using. There is no hole in the shaft for a carter pin or castle nut....

How do you lock the nut to the shaft?

You should have two slightly convex washers. They go on a special way and then the nut. Tighten it down tight. There is no other positive lock.

There were actually 3 washers with it, all different thickness, I assumed that you chose the washer thickness that worked with each prop.
I did not look very closely at them but I did not notice that they were convex. What should I torque it to?

If this is all that is needed for high HP motors, when why did I have to screw with the little tabs on my lower HP motors?

they all go on, spring washer first that's the thinner one. then the thick washer, then the nut
I torque to 60 ft lbs when I use a torque wrench. that's not too often. don't worry it wont fall off. change the nut and washers after 10 on and offs

It's a change for the better, you will like it more as you work with it.
