If you decide to move up and get rid of your 28 I would like a shot. I called Robert a little too late when he sold it.

apppedigree, have you checked into insurance on a 25 with a blower motor?

I go through Nationwide. You tell them the insured value you want, dont tell them that it is a cat, tell them that it has a stock motor. They wont insure anything over 50 miles per hour, so that is what you tell them. My '99 was around $300 a month. It works out well.

works out great as long as you don't have a claim.

This is true. But my agent (who advised me on this) said that if you have the cost of the boat insured under the primary policy, then you can always have a rider to cover add ons (including engine). Thankfully I have never had to test this theory.

However, on a smaller scale, I did something similar with my jetskis. They wont insure anything over 35 mph. I put one on the highway, tore it all to hell, and they covered it for the whole value.

I guess that this is not the best way to go, but its kind of like Olde English...it get the job done. Plus, at my age you never think that anything is going happen. Maybe Ill get wise with age.

If things don't work out with the 25 in Texas I have a '98 with a 502mpi all stock. I would sell. I live in Ohio. If you are interested I could send you some photos.

im afraid your wasting 300 a month. for that tell the truth & get some insurance that will cover you if you need it.
