2007 Daytona 28 - Couldn't get on plane with 34's
So, I was able to squeeze 98 mph out of my 2007 with 496 HO's and the stock 32 4 blades that came with the boat. I was curious on what labs might do for me...my dealer ordered me labbed 34 to test out (per their recommendation) - unfortunately after 30 mins of trying just about everything, I couldn't even get on plane - every time we started to get on top of the water we'd blow out.
I tried everything - different drive settings, different tab settings, different rpms - but it didn't matter
I was trying to break 100 mph without doing any engine mods - wanted to keep it stock.
Is it possible to get a new model 28 on plane with labbed 34's?

That's funny you bring this up. I tried and tried and tried again on Friday to get my 28' Daytona up on plane with bravo 34's and finally gave up after 45 minutes. Same thing, I'd almost get up on plane then bam it would blow out the props. It was very frustrating. I've just come to the conclusion that my x-dimension is just too high to run a four blade prop.

You might try the IMCO plates as jdnca1 suggests or 5 blades.

If you have XR drives, they are 1.35. If they are XZ they could be 1.34 or 1.36 depending on your combination of gears. Here's a link to gear ratios.
