Default Stock 25 Daytona on GPS!

Took the boat out for the first time this year today. It is a 1999 25 Daytona 454CI MAG, Bravo one 1.50, 26p 4 blade bravo prop, boat has 122hrs on it 8 of which I put on it last year. It had about 1/2 tank in each side, three people (me 246lbs, dad 200lbs, mom 115lbs or so) and a loaded cooler. Wind was out of the south 15-20mph first run was 68.1mph@4500 into the wind. After driving around a while and letting my dad drink some of his beverages to empty the cooler we ran it home going with the wind to the tune of 68.2mph@4500-4600. I dropped both of them at the dock with one tank showing 1/4 and the other still at 1/2 I turned back around into the wind and ran 70.4mph@4800rpm . It probably still has a little left in it had I played with the trim more than I did

I was very pleased with those speeds for a bone stock boat and now I have a good baseline. Just thought I would share my findings with everyone

now i need a whipple, xr, shortie, hyd steering

very respectable for a stock 454 MPI but Im thinking the rpms should be up around 4800-4900 perhaps a different prop would help.

Had the same set up on my 99 when it was new, sounds like the same numbers mine ran. Time for you to start adding some horsepower

I'm think you need a labbed 26 or 24.

I think there is room for improvement with the prop but I think this one will work just fine until I add some power and change the set up a littl then I will fine tune it from there. Should I see the same RPM loaded or unloaded?

nope- you want to kiss the limiter on those days when all the variables are going your way
