NEW elim owner!! Need advice?

Hello from OK,

Not too many elims out here, but people know what they are (sweet). I am planning on going to pick up my 96 eagle 25 cuddy on Sunday. Not too late to change my mind yet tho, if you all say they suck! lol

Seriously, this boat is a great little package. I have seen many of the eagle 25's with the 502 mpi setup. Owner says 75 on gps. Sound right? Any issues with that motor to look for, or hull issues on the eagle? What kind of performance can i expect, rough and calm?

It has captains call, are there any issues with this? I plan on doing 2 things immediately. One is tabs, which i am reading up on this forum now! I plan to get the Dana 24's, any idea on cost? I'm also looking to pick up a used M1 procharger if anyone knows someone. I'd like to get this boat to around 95, and that's fast enough for me. From what I'm reading, hydro steering is a MUST at this speed. Again, any idea on who to buy from and how much?

Any tips on this boat would be greatly appreciated. I am a multi-fomula owner, but with gas the way it is I had to sell my 272 sr-1. Nice boat, but just not fast enough and it's a fuel hog.

Thanks!!

Mike

Mike, great to see another eliminator in oklahoma. I might know some one who has the pro charger for your engine that they are ready to get rid of. gsmith170@cox.net

I've had 3 25 Eagle's,great boats...it's a *****in' little hot rod.
96 with 502...ran 73-75 stock..motor had a few hours on it..
99 with a 502,aftermarket exhaust,re-calibrated ECM,labbed prop...78-80.

Currently,98 with a blown 510,stand off box,full hydraulic(a must have) 280-s offshore K-tabs...big pulley 4lbs of boost,she runs 95-98...little pulley,race fuel she runs over 100...
My 25 handles the rough stuff in havasu as well as ANY 28 ft'er out there
...if there is anything i can help you with feel free to call my cell..505-620-7622,Mychal

I had a 97 with 502 mpi. I added a M-3 Procharger. Increased speed to 83 GPS. It is a nice boat, I enjoyed mine. You will not get to 90 with the Procharger, but it will be plenty exciting.

Thanks

For the quick replies!

Speaking of props, what would be the absolute ideal props for this boat with the 502 n/a, and also with the procharger? Don't really care too much about a hard launch (i like my outdrive in one piece, lol), but rather good midrange and top end!

I will check out that hydro steering special too!

Thanks,

Mike

...I think I've tryed every type prop on the market.
Overall best has been a Bravo1(labbed).
Honestly,If I were you I'd just nix the whole procharger deal, and just add a good set of exhaust manifilds,a K&N filter, have the ECM re-mapped,get the prop worked and call it good.
Take all the money you saved and invest in Quality fluids(Alcohol)...
Very few people I know still run prochargers, then you have to upgrade the drive, add hydraulic steering, bigger prop, and the list goes on and on.
Just my 02.
