Fellow Eliminator Owners

For those of you that have through the hull off shore water pick up, I need to know what it looks like. Is it flush with the hull, are there pipes sticking out, etc.? I had a dealer install one on my 26 Daytona, and it it flush with the bottom of the hull. I'm getting 2 to 3 lbs of block pressure, over 35 mph, not enough water going through to cool the engine or the oil. I need to come up with some working ideas to solve this problem.

there are a few differnt design ideas. 1 is a little bubble strainer type looking attachment on the bottom of the boat..2 another is an indented style or recessed on the bottom of the boat and another 3 that I know of is athe type that hang down from the transom an 1" or 1.5" and scoop water as you go and suck water when sitting still

How is boat running? (Beside water problem)

I am getting my water from the drive. The XZ drive I have has both the low water & side pickups. Do not seem to be having any problem with this with either hard or easy running. I am saying this because water temps do not go above about 110 during / after hard running. I think Uncle T. has the set up you are talking about. I know of a 30' datoyna in town that has same setup but have not problem with it. Problem may just be location of pickup. Do you have good pressure below 35 mph? I would call eliminator & see what they have to say about problem. Have you talked to your dealer??

Sorry for the more questions then answers?

Have to ask. Some times the answer is simple. Have you replace the impellor in your water pump? When the impellor starts going south some of the rubber parts go to the first cooler & also help plug water flow. I replace my impellor at least everyother year if not every year. If after taking out & parts are missing I start hunting for them until I find all of the parts.

Meyer what type of drive do you have? On my Eliminator ive used both a Bravo 1 with LWP and now use a 2" shorty IMCO and havent had any problems with water intake yet. I had a checkmate that needed a Thru hull pickup installed and it was a process I would try to avoid if possible. Drilling thru the hull, plus having the pickup protruding basically sucked. Also, we then ended up with too much water pressure so we had to regulate it with a valve. Just a pain! Good luck Meyer. Are you going to the Seneca Lake Poker run this year? Cya

Turbojack: Replace impellor with new one. Didn't help. Did how ever find most of the problem. The dealer mounted the sea strainer to high on the back of the trasom. Sea pump couldn't lift enough water to cool the motor when motor was making good power. I mean when motor was in its power band making heat. However it over heat at speeds over 65 because the through hull pick up is flush with the bottom of the boat. I think. BO: LWP Bravo. LWP is pipe to the drive top cap with built in drive shower. Looking forward to meeting you at Seneca lake poker run.
