Just thought I'd post a few pix of the project boat I bought last fall.

Re: Refinished 27 Flatdeck
powered with original 454 (330 hp.)
runs 60 mph. on gps. I have plans for a bigger motor but with only about three months of boating weather around here, I'm going to wait until winter to do the work.

I hear ya there. You get the winter weather before anyone else. I left Michigan in 1988. Been there, done that.

I see you have original 454's, I had a question about those engines, I have a 40' Hawk with the 454 mercruisers borg trans and TRS drives, Does any one know if those are Standard Rotation Engines, Or Reverse? thanks guys,

Re: Refinished 27 Flatdeck
If you look at the timing tab on each engine, and they are the same, most likely you have standard rotation engines. Reverse rotation engine has a different tab, as the damper (harmonic balancer) would be rotating the opposite direction. Or, crank engine and see which way it spins. Looking at engine from the front, std rotation spins clockwise, reverse spins counter-clockwise.
The drive would also be different for reverse rotation. The prop shaft has an "R" stamped in the end for reverse rotation drives.
