40 Excalibur Project with new 650's
Here are a couple pictures of my friends 40 Excalibur. He had over 750 original hours on it, mostly saltwater. The original Merc 400's had never been out of the boat. They actually had to cut one out. The boat then had a new fuel tank installed, repainted the bilge, replaced or rebuilt all running hardware, replaced all hydraulics, etc. The new power is Derebery 540ci 650's. Texoma Marine Gear beefed up the transmissions. We hope the best for the drives. Derebery did a great job on all the new rigging. If CMI will get the tailpipes delivered this one will be on the water.

Original paint! I guess this was the deal back then? The owner of this boat bought my boat new. It was stolen from him in the mid 80's in Sarasota. Insurance bought him this one.
Here is a picture of mine before the redo, the 11:3 ratio should clear up any doubt.

Looks real nice,, after all the boats I have been in, and operated,, theres just something about the feeling you get as one of these giant old school wave crushers start to plane.

Sweet, love to see the old Hawks updated. I'll say a prayer for the TRS before I go to bed tonight. My 40FT Formula with 600's likes to chew them up.
