I hope to be building up mine Sat, then lay some wood in Sun. Don't think I can put in 4 layers of glass at once do to the heat buildup.
I didnt measure but the outer fiberglass is 1/2, then it had 2 sheets of 3/4 plywood, and then after that a thin layer of glass over that. So I would say atleast 2 1/4in thick.
I just picked up a sheet of plywood and have to still get some resin, roven woven mat, etc. I will be getting a hand from 2 members on here since this is my first time. I would like to get the transom finished before the real cold weather hits us, then its time to build a new motor and buy much need parts....

Well little update..
Was able to cut both sheets of 3/4 plywood to fit in the boat nice and tight today. Then expoxy both sheets togeather outside the boat. They are drying tonight and maybe tomm will get it set in the boat and drill some holes to hold it tight to the back of the transom.
Oh big thanks to my buddy John "johnlx302" for helping me out today!
Erik

It maybe hard to read but John wrote a little note for the new transom..(perpare for an asskickin)

Update

Plywood is fitted and made up some wedges for the new stringers. Ran out of daylight and temp to glue the wood to the fiberglass.
