I am a newer member and just picked up a 24 Excalibur for a winter project in the Syracuse area in NY does anyone recognize it or have any history?

Default re rigging

the engine is currently being stroked to a 540cid hopefully to be pushing 700-750hp... does anyone have any info on whether the x dimension on the drive should be changed and if so how far?

is that a bravo drive?
24 pantera w/ b1 xdim should be around 17.5", so that should get you close.

No, I am sticking with the Trs and merc two trans which has been reworked with more clutch plates etc to hold the hp. Iv always had good luck with the trs so i figured may as well stick with it. Iv been told that raising the X dimension could give me more speed just dont want to go to far, figured somebody has done it with luck?

She was a little rough... Replacing the transom now and converting it to a 496 with a bravo... Have any history on it?

nice project . i had a 79 24 with trs and changed it to bravo with a 750 hp blower motor . it did go faster but it had a lot more chinewalk i think you are making the right choice for this style boat. I now have a 1980 32 ft excalibur with twins and love it . It is great for the Lake of the ozarks. good luck with project .Kurt
