It seem the sringer is pulling away from the hull. Same condition on the other side. The resin at the bottom of the stringer directly under the motor mount is... I was cleaning my engine compartment in my 260 today and pulled off one of those plastic covers on the floor board to take a peak inside. It seem the sringer is pulling away from the hull. Same condition on the other side. The resin at the bottom of the stringer directly under the motor mount is fractured for about a foot. The stringer does not seem to be rotted. It seems like it could be a common issue. I was thinking of coating that area with new resin to seal it and add strength. What do you guys think? When I first looked at the boat, I noticed these kind of bubble looking things in the deck but it was raining so I thought I was just seeing puddles of water. When I came back to buy the boat they were still there. The owner told me they must have been drops of resin that got spilled when the boat was getting put together. I didn't know any better. This summer my cousin had some friends over and they were checking my boat out. One of his friends said "nice boat, too bad about the de lam tho eh?" He explained to me what it really was. I called the guy that sold me the boat and he just said he didn't know either, thats the way the boat was when he bought it used. I brought it to a fiberglass repair shop and the guy told me it was going to cost just under 4k to fix and that I should call velocity. I called velocity and they told me the boat was too old and they wouldn't fix it. I went back to the fiberglass repair guy and he said it was total BS, he had a customer with a much older powerquest and they stood behind it. It was like dried bubble gum. Anyway I got it all off.:angry-smiley-038: I have dual water lines so I can start both engines up at the same time with the water hoses. I fired the engines up. Neighbor called, wondering if we were OK thought a bomb went off or something. Heee! Heading out to the Lake tomorrow for some more Maximus Labbed 5 blade practice. With these 2" shorties I had to take the aluminum cav / splash plate off the drives. Props are 15 5/8 and a hair away from the cav plates so I decided to take the plates off and do some more testing.
