Default Cockpit Snaps?

I have several cockpit cover snaps that have pulled out of the fiberglass. I was going to thru bolt them but I don't have any good access behind them. The snaps that I have seen at West Marine come with the screw mounted into the snap. I thought of drilling the screw out and using a bigger screw. Are there any problems with this? Or should I try something else?

Thanks

some times you can get away with taking some hardwood toothpicks dip them in resin and put one or two in each hole. after they are cured cut them to the surface and put the screw back in. hope it wirks for ya

Glassdave
I thought of also using a a hardwood plug and some epoxy and rescrewing into the wood.

Thanks

I just had a new cockpit cover installed and the guy gave me a tip on the snaps. He told me to get some of those plastic drywall inserts that are used for the screw to put up pictures on your wall. Pound one in your screw hole, cut it off flush with the surface and screw in your new snap. Worked great for me.
