Re: help polishing f16 canopy
I have remove scratches from a set of F16 type canopies - it will take some guts and for sure wait for other post before you start - Thes canopies are made out of multiple layers and the problem can be in any one of the layers - Mine were pretty bad - I started with # 80 grit paper on a D/A sander and worked evenly removing materials - Yes # 80 grit - it is very course and cuts plastic pretty fast - then i did the normal steps - 120 - 220 -320 - 400 and by the time I got to # 600 it was getting very clear I think Istopped at # 800 - all this was done in a couple hrs - it goes pretty fast - YOU MUST work the entire vision surface or you will create a prisim and this will blurr your vision - it will take some balls to put that # 80 grit on but if the scatches are deep then it will take that - if not start with a finer paper -
Can not help with the bronze - I have seen this before and I think that coating is on the interior surface -
