Starbrite Marine Polish
I'm about to apply Starbrite Marine Polish to my recently wet-sanded, 3M Super Duty, and Finesse-It polished gel-coat. Should I strip the oils contained in the Finesse-It with Dawn dishsoap before using the Starbrite Polish? Would the polish be more effective if it is applied to virgin clean and porous gel-coat? Or, am I thinking about this too much and should just apply the polish right over the Finesse-It.

Re: Starbrite Marine Polish
Thanks, ginger, that is what I did...washed the boat with Dawn and then applied the Starbrite. I used my rotary polisher and a foam pad to apply the polish, at a low rpm. Then a fine wool pad to remove, at a little higher rpm. I don't think I will ever hand polish (or wax) again! Second coat tomorrow, and then I should be good to go.
