Nicks in keel/strakes- gelcoat or marinetex???
I've got a few I'll fix this winter, is one better than the other? seems like marinetex is easier to work with due to thicker consistency etc.
the are small superficial nicks, no bigger than 1/4- 3/8"

I have never used marinetex before. I always use gel coat and mix in aerosil with it. Use it just like the product in the previous post. Mix up you gelcoat and then mix in the aerosil a little at a time until you get the right consistency you want. Good luck.

I think you will find the marine tex to peel , you also will not be able to polish it like the gel. Sounds like the gel with some kind of silica thickener would be a better idea. If the gouges are big in the keel , fill with epoxy like west system and the thickener then sand and spray gel , sand and polish and youll never see it!
