Hey Glassdave, what if the holes were all fiberglass about 1 cm Thick ??
I laminated it in the hole and then two layers outside, Is this ok ??

Did you taper out the edges MF both front and back of the hole? If so you should be fine.

As long as you tapered out the holes you should be fine.

excellent post of how too, what is the correct procedure for filling in old cover snaps holes ? theres must be 50 or more of these every 8-10 inches

pretty similar. i use a course round rasp to prep the hole. you cant just fill in the screw hole as there are usually some fine stress cracks around it from when it was first driven in. Are you painting over or gelcoat?

painting it, heres my new dash, this 21 shadow had a goofy z shape, I decided to use the smartcraft screen so I cut it out as well as made a side console to house switches etc, also put a new transom in to support 18 inches of set back and cut out the splashwell and built a new rear section with hatch
