I'm with ya Dregz, I think it took me longer to get my transom flat outside than replacing the wood inside.

Polyester is much easier to work with in my opinion. I can not stand working with epoxy not only because it takes so long to kick. But also washing it with water is a pain. With poly mix what you need give it a couple hours sand grind etc wipe it with some acetone and your good to go again. like others have said above the fairing will be the hardest part.

Any autobody supply is going to have gallons of polyester resin- about $30 per. Hell, Wal Mart has it.

The biggest problem with the polyester is post cure and shrinkage .
Do the glass work then heat it and let it cool a few times prior to fairing . A heat lamp will suffice .

Default vinylester resin is the answer.

this resin along with the correct cloth should help. the work in the photo's looks like a body guy on steriods did it. the primer is a dead give away. "Prime it and see what it looks like"?

If you need any help feel free to contact me.
