Gelcoat and Duratech....help please?
I just ordered a custom matched quart of gel coat from gel coat products in Seattle, WA. Cost me less than $100.
I am doing some small repairs in areas no more than 2" x 2" and gelcoat wil be aplied with a solvent resistant foam brush. This company sells Duratech High Gloss Additive by the pint quart and gallon for very reasonable prices.
First Question: Would it be worth my to pick up some Duratech?
Second Question: If I go 50/50 with gelcoat/duratech, do I need to add any other surfacing agent or finish with a shot of PVA.
My understanding is that the Durtech will provide a nicer finish to sand and polish as well as well as allow the gelcoat the cure to a hard surface.
Please help me out? Thanks.
