Default How to finish underside of hatch?

Here are a couple pictures of the underside of my hatch. Im trying to avoid covering it with mirror etc. right now. Im looking for a product to smooth it out and paint. I does have some flex when walking on it. Im worried about "putty" like materials cracking. I really know nothing about this.

How about that HERCULINER truck bedliner roll on stuff and you can get the color you want. not real smooth.

My fiberglass guy really likes Poxolon. Says he's used it on a bunch of houseboats. MUCH cheaper than awlgrip

I want it smooth and finished like the exterior. I dont want to brush anything on it. Im running out of time. It may go back on and stay shut!

That's a pretty heavy weave glass. Ideally you'd probably need to get the existing paint off of it, lay down some lighter weave glass/mat and then fill/fair until smooth and paint.

I'm no glass guy, but if you do as someone else suggested using tighter weave with resin and filler then sand it smooth you could stiffen it up and then spray it using gel or paint.

Had some awlgrip (snow white) left over - so thats what we used. 2 coats of primer and 2 topcoats, brushed on. Turned out pretty good. Pics have bad lighting and don't do it much justice.
