Painting aluminum Swim Platform

I am going to paint my alumnimum swim Platform cause of chips and some lifting. Seems that the paint on it is pretty tough. Can this be bead basted to clean it up? I was going to use PPG concept (purple). Any suggestions or helpful hints? Not sure how to get the "non skid" surface on the top either.

There is a good chance its powdercoated.

Use clear non skid tape.

I have the 4100 series on mine. Been stuck on for 2 years and works well. The 4200 was not out yet when I got it and I may have gone with it instead of the 4100.

I have the PPG Deltron 2000 "bill of materials" for what PPG calls Ultraviolet pearl. I wanted to paint match some deep candy purple PC parts that Exotic had done. The PPG color matches it perfectly. This is a DBC basecoat. Used the PPG Concept DBU2042 clear. Let me know if you need it. Painters Supply was my source. The color number won't do it. Must have the complete list of tints. Be ready, the DBC quart costs $$$$$$

Hi I have painted 2 swim platforms for Baja outlaws. They are powercoated, I had them sand blasted then sanded them with some 150 sprayed epoxy primer (DP) then applied ppg concept single stage. Remember you have 8 hours to spray aluminium it is a self healing metal.

I Just got through spraying my platform with Dupont Hot Hues Amazing Grape(candy purple) 2 stage paint and it matches the purple rim gauges on my Livorsi Gauges perfect. As far as the non skid you can get the roll of Black,Grey or Clear 1" X 60 ft tape on Ebay pretty cheap.Hope this Helps:

Why not have it powdercoated ??

Just had mine done. $35 to sandblast and $185 to powdercoat.
