Default Gelcoat material ?'s

I am going to be picking up some gel coat from my boat mfgr on Friday. I will be converting it into paste to do some of the repairs on the outer hull. I have worked with paste before and had great results.

Here are my questions:

1.) Should i have them add wax to the gelcoat?

2.) IIRC, you add cabosil to gelcoat to thicken it into paste correct?

Thanks for the help!!

Hey Dave, I have always used Aerosil to make my gel coat paste. I have never heard of or used Cabosil, is one better than the other or just the same exact thing with a different name?

Brandon I think they are a very close product, also similiar to the West systmems 40X product. The west I like because you can get different strengths and so on. I use the fairing filler as my "bondo". I LOVE cabosil for going around corners. You can put some in there and it will hold the glass into the corner very well.
