Question for Glassdave

Dave, I'm going to be re-doing my rear bench seat and engine hatch over the winter and I want to use 1 1/2 or 2" foam board. Do you know which kind, either the blue or pink from Home Depot or Lowes, is compatible with a vinyl resin? Thanks!

Batboat, 38 Donzi ZX, 16 Sidewinder, 10' Zodiac and a ScarabIII
neither of them are really compatible. Those are polystyrenes and will melt under polyester or vinylester resins. You neen a polyeurathane or polyisocyanurate. It will be a white or yellowish board. It is still an insulation material but tougher to find. i get mine through an industrial supplier. If you need a more structural piece there is Coosa as well
