Beertruck! Are you kidding me? I just got done looking at your awsome paint job on another thread, someone asked about flames and refered to yoour boat. Hold on while I shoot myself on your behalf. I hope it didn't ruin too much of the graphics on the sides? I have a question though to put to the pro painters. Would it be possible to black gel coat the bottom and up the sides to the water line? Can the paint and gel be blended somehow at the seam where they meet? I hope that paint job can be saved. I get sick now looking at my home made Azz flame job.

Not to worry fireboatpilot, it is not that bad. although some pieces are 6-10 inches long, the failure is in a section of the back below the waterline that has some tear aways. Almost looks like it is suppose to be like that.

Mike can easily repair this, but I might just do a temporary fix for this season, until I am in a position to not have it in the water so long. The consensus is as I suspected that over time all paint will fail if left in the water too long.
Actually had this same problem with some custom urinals that Mike flamed up for my restaurants. after a few months the paint and clear would peel in the very bottom that had constant water. Strange but urine had little effect on the paint.
