Strip the paint off the drive?

I've just read about 30 posts going back to 2002. There are several ways to go about repainting my drive. I'd rather NOT sand blast, strip, or otherwise take it to the bare metal. So my question is looking from the pics, what would be the steps needed along with what products for repainting. Do I need a zinc phosphate when not dealing with bare aluminum? I have a can of Phantom Black use for lower and works great for touch ups, my lower unit doesn't need any work. Obviously my upper does due to heat abuse, and yes I'm buying a drive shower.

thanx for the help

Clean it up with muratic acid or Sno bowl toilet cleaner and see how it looks then. You may just be able to clean it and buff it without repainting.
