paint sticks make the perfect spacer for just about all gaps plus they are consistent and readily available.

Thank you and Dave if your like me every time I walk in to Home -depot I grab a bunch as they are the only free thing there!

actually i got my body shop supply guys trained pretty well, they just give me a whole box and a case of strainers whenever i ask. They have the nice thick squared off ones

Yes I also get those as well and since the H-D sticks are a little differerent I can make up any thickness

Yes I will intall halfround weather strip and there will be a drain hole in corner with a hose running intop bilge . I have plenty of time usaully in shop till 3 am and I wont settle for less than perfect . It might kill me yet !!

Thats always been my problem, It isnt done right unless its done perfect. Have any products or tips that will help me achieve this?

This is the first time over here all my pics are over at Skater and will post from here to spark ideas for others . Here are a pics of the Hidden hinges I designed and built and I cant stand seeing a high doller boat with exposed hinges or screws so I came up with these . I have a month in working these out as the operate with a hidden high speed Linear Elect Act on a 9/16 jack shaft off rear hinge pivot point . They take 3 seconds to open and when open all you aee are hinges , no gas strut or screw jack . Also when I layed up doors I bonded in 3/8 thick alum so I could tap hole from bottom . I aslo designed stainless hidden hinges for cooler door as well and openes with remote electric door lock
