The hatch is maybe a few pounds heavier than orig but when I layed it up yes I wanted it light but also knew that it had to support a few people .
The Higes took many hours to design and MFG as inno way shape or form did I want strap hinges or any hinge on market today . When I layed up th hatch I buried a 7/16 alim plate and tapped for hinges = no visable screws . I also designed a 9/16 stainless jack shaft that attaches to pivot point and runs aft which in turn attaches to a high speed linear actuator , so when opened all you see are hinges . I also designed and mfg the stainless steel cooler hinges

Larry......"Because I have terrible access to the twin engines in my 27 mag sport....I was thinking of fusing together the engine hatch with the rear benchseat so they would open up together as one piece thus giving me ample room to service the engines easily rather than being a contorsionist as it presently is....the combined weight is approx. 150lbs ......would something like your hidden hinges be able to support the weight and span?
