Default Temps

Yep another question! What is a good temp range to shoot paint? I did all my accessories and have the short block ready to go. But now it's snowing here! It's still 50* in my garage and it is heated, but it's forced air and I hate to blow dust around.

I would wait 'til it warms up a bit, especially since it is heavy metal and will hold the cold, also, a lot of ridges and stuff on an engine block, good place to start a run from. What you could do is get the shop nice and warm for a good period beforehand, and let the heat sok into the block, and then shut the heat off, shoot a coat, let eh dust settle, and repeat, that is what we used to do when I shot cars up in CT. If you go down this road, I would do it during the day when the outside temp is at its warmest in order to limit heat loss.

Good idea. I'll get it to 70 or so in the garage and wait a bit for the dust to settle. It's insulated well so it holds head for awhile. Maybe I'll put a space heater in front of the block too so it can get some radiant heat.

Thanks!
