I would wait 'til it warms up a bit, especially since it is heavy metal and will hold the cold, also, a lot of ridges and stuff on an engine block, good place to start a run from. What you could do is get the shop nice and warm for a good period beforehand, and let the heat sok into the block, and then shut the heat off, shoot a coat, let eh dust settle, and repeat, that is what we used to do when I shot cars up in CT. If you go down this road, I would do it during the day when the outside temp is at its warmest in order to limit heat loss.
