What is the best wood to use in the stringers. I used white oak plywood. I was hoping that this would not compress as much when I clamp the motor mounts down.

Void free marine ply would be best. Is your white oak waterproof glued?

Duraplex Dyneaplex Marine AA White Oak
11 ply
Moisture-11%
Useage-outdoors
Glue-WBP(MELAMINE)

I hope it is. I would hate to have to cut it all out now. I have started putting the engines in. LOL

white oak is some stout stuff, you probably know this...its water proof and will never absorb water..dont worrie about the glue if its wraped in glass and if its sealed real tight it will most likely never water..a friend of mine made a white oak swim platform that turned out real nice for his boat..

Thank you, I finally got that mess all glassed up and the stringer ready to go back in. Damn snow storms keep eating up my boat work days!
