I think i will go with three layers of 1708 across the entire bottom done in three sections left right and center overlapping with a 1708 patch where the stringers are ground out

maybe two layers would be better.. i dunno

yes you can (and should) do them at once. pick a nice 70 degree day and stick religiously to a one percent catalyst ratio.

three's good with the center overlap if you're looking to beef up the running surface.

Trying to get all my products bought up and on there way. Resin i am getting locally 160 a 5 gallon pail for vinylester, thinking that 15 gallons will be enough. 3m corebond trying to source right now. 1708 may be getting locally as well.

1.5 CSM for in between the transom layers.

Dave have you used ATC corebond before?? i can get that locally if it is comparable.

Grinding is mostly done have to hit the corners with the die grinder a bit and maybe take a little more gelcoat off here and there.

Im going to take the lifeline off for an updated look.... have nice new bomar hatches to go on as well. I need carpet and bolster seats and im done with the exterior

today i am sanding the back of the transom and maybe working on the hatches, i need a break from the grinding dust

composite one in bristol RI.

I havent gotten it yet waiting for them to call back. They are kind of annoying you have to create an account fill out some paperwork but for the price it is worth it. I might get my 1708 there but they only sell it by the roll apparently

if you can get ATC corebond thats a better product. I prefer it to 3M no perceptual reason other then it was recommended to me by Steve Koss and thats good enough for me. ATC comes in either mek or bpo cured, you can use either just make sure you know which one you get. (bpo is the tubes of hardener thatt comes with bondo type fillers)

Yeah the ATC i have available is BPO cured. All this stuff is polyester based i assume hot coating with VE resin is fine?

Or if i want to get crazy i can use ARJAY 2171

http://www.fgci.com/bp_viewproduct.a...oldItem=128619

ATC is 180 a pail locally and the arjay is 275+ship.... atc it is haha

Tentative product list:

ATC corebond b70 - 180
BPO activator -20
15 gallons vinylester resin -480
25 yards (50 inch) 1708 -250
10 yards CSM -33
white gelcoat -??
grey gelcoat -??
3 sheets marine grade plywood - 300

$1265 w/o gelcoat
