What is there to do as far as "bodywork"? If there aren't any scratches or anything couldn't you just prime and paint? The boat is clean, it just has a pink and purple Fing stripe on the side.... I am no painter by any means, I am sure there is more to it than just priming and painting it though. If I knew someone that painted cars could they pull painting a boat off?
When I had my Donzi painted, I stripped it down myself. Use grease/wax remover and scuffed everything with a scotch brite pad. So, when I brought it to the painter her just had to tape and shoot. Boat was straight with only one gouge in the side which he fixed. Doing all that work myself saved me a ton of money.

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/f...removal-2.html That was one I did.I usually do 1 a year and that is enuff for me. It all depends how the bootom was prepped . Was it sanded or primed and how many years of bottom paint and what kind of paint did they use.
