1998 382 FASTECH
results are in: 382 with 620's

I ran the boat this last weekend (1998 382 FasTech) with some good base line numbers. It ran 82 mph (gps) at 5500 rpm on the first pass. the boat had a full load of fuel and three adults on board. I don't even think the gps was caught up to the boat yet, becase after about 20 seconds the wife was allready wanting to slow down, the 80 mph speedo was pointing straight down. This was with the stock 28 bravo props. The boat ran flawlessly with a good idle and pulls from 3500 rpm to 5500 like a raped ape. I just have to dial in the props now and take care of some of that mid-range slip.
Jeff

Dont' be holding out on us now! Inquiring minds want to know ... what are the numbers when the GPS catches up without Marilyn on board?

Chris,
I have not had a chance to really air it out yet, I have been busy all week. The boat was still slowly climbing when it hit 82 mph, I always get my best speed when I stay in it for minute or two. I am happy with the performance the way it is on the top end, I just want to improve the mid range slip numbers.

Troutly,
Did you end up with p5x's ? If so why do you recomend the merc props?
What pitch are you running and what mph at 3500 rpm? Jeff
