Thumbs down 85 302 fuel sending unit

does anyone have a medallion fuel sending unit laying around that they would sell i tried a universal one from west marine and it works but the screws dont line up. i have medallion gauges if that helps you out thanks for your help

The 5 holes on the universal unit appear to be symetrical but they are not,they are off slightly. You must turn the unit until all 5 holes line up perfectly. They will only line up perfectly in the exact position.keep rotating it till you get it exact,then screw it down.

so this unit will work i just need turn the head until it lines up okay i got that but wont the rod and the float be in the way

No,the reason it will only line up perfectly one way is so the float will be pointed the right way.And remember,the holes are only off just a small amount,turn it till the alignment is exactly perfect.

thanks for your advice i will try that tommorrow after work i wish i could find a medallion sending to wash all these problems away. once i get it lined up i hope the darn thing works. thanks again for you help

If not then do what I did. Call up Lavorsi and have them make you one that does not have the float on it. Never have to worry about it ever again. Make sure you get the measurements perfect however on those.
