I plan to try using long exhaust tips at the transom with the bottom of the ST box cut out to see if I can maintain the speed gain and still be able to run the platform. My wife really misses the platform (but she understands my need for speed).

ok bringin it back. I finally purchased my go fast goodies. heads intakes cams, carbs, distributor, roller rockers basically tops for both power plants. It should be in the water in about 2 weeks I will let you all know how it goes.

Had an 89 272 with twin 330's/bravos in it, boat was a 64 to 65 mph boat, swapped the 330's out to a pair of fresh 420's that I picked up from Dollar Marine in S. Florida, used Bassett headers(center to center clearance was to close for anything else) and the boat became a solid 70 mph boat,picked up 400 rpms and stepped up one size in props(25's to 27's).
