I plan to try using long exhaust tips at the transom with the bottom of the ST box cut out to see if I can maintain the speed gain and still be able to run the platform. My wife really misses the platform (but she understands my need for speed).

Had an 89 272 with twin 330's/bravos in it, boat was a 64 to 65 mph boat, swapped the 330's out to a pair of fresh 420's that I picked up from Dollar Marine in S. Florida, used Bassett headers(center to center clearance was to close for anything else) and the boat became a solid 70 mph boat, picked up 400 rpms and stepped up one size in props(25's to 27's).

So, how many ponies are you expecting?
Are you still looking to keep the motors at 400HP per side?
