Installing under the platform swim ladder

I bought an under the platform swim ladder for my 242ls. The ladder comes with nuts and bolts which require you to drill a hole and get a nut on the inside of the platform. How do I get a nut on the inside?? Or can I just screw the ladder on with some thick sheet metal screws or something similiar? Anyone install one before?

Re: Installing under the platform swim ladder

I put a new ladder under my platform an just screwed it in. It took 12 good size screws to attach it`s not going any where. I have had my platform off thier is no way to get in that section. The platform was made in two sections bottom half and upper, when they put the holes in they glassed in nylock nuts to hold the small bolt that would run up thru the platform. I just moved mine to the other side.

Re: Installing under the platform swim ladder

Yes, I used a good silcone to seal everthing and it has been fine. The reason I didn`t go futher to the left is I didn`t want the ladder hitting the back of the platform because it starts to curve. I used a 3 step ladder very easy for the kids to get on the boat now.

good luck

Re: Installing under the platform swim ladder

Pitman is about 40 west of Atlantic City in Gloucester County. I think Hopatcong is a little small for my boat
