The switch looks like a blue box, you can turn the pivot pin and activate the pump.
The lower one is for the pump and the higher one is for the high water alarm, the alarm takes a few seconds to sound if you want to test it.

I recommend ear muffs when testing the high water alarm. I tested mine and scared myself to death. Guess they want me to be able to hear it when running WOT.
