'90 242LS 16,000?? Good Deal

I can get my hands on a 1990 242 LS with a MPi 496 or 454 (not sure which one yet) that was dropped in about 4 years ago. Has about 200 hours on it was not used this year does come with a trailer and is cleaner then a whisle. I want somethign to do like 75 mph + i will probably need to charge it. But where it stands good deal or bust.
Thanks
Mike NE area (Mass)

Sounds about right money wise there are alot of older 242's on boat trader and boats.com for 15k range. but it will take some bucks to hit 75 plus in one very heavy. What does it have for a drive? you will need to make around 600+ for those speeds. Mine with twin vette motors does mid to upper 60's.

The 242 is a great ride and offers about a foot to a foot and a half over the 223 and is just wave crusher. The boat is not to much heavier than the 223 but is thicker in the belly . The 496 ho is about prefect. You add 2 motors and and you need more power. I think 425 to 500 hp is perfect for a single in this boat .. that is if it isn't a twin.

If someone has a 242 Ls with twins, and wants to move up, I might be interested in a trade.

What do you have in mind Cuda? Always interseted in moving up. I'd say my twin is a solid 8.5 out of ten. having the bottom wet sanded and boat detailed as we speak. the only thing it needs is a new port tach.

I don't believe I have any of the interior but some of it on the mouringand on the trailer before I had the bottom paint removed. Luckily the previous owner did not sand the bottom he just painted it. let me look around.
