I'll agree with more punk owners re: Fountain
Also top end is much higher, on the edge of control too.
Don't forget the compensation claims for the gold chains it all adds up to more premiums.
Great avatar RaggedEdge!
Happy New Year to all my high performance boating friends Have a safe and fun 007.

I guess that makes me an over the hill low tech poor risk out of control faster than most punk,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and proud of it. Damned if my self esteem isn't going down the toilet faster than my boats book value. What a way to start out the New Year.
Thanks. I've always liked that shot.
Ditto, and might I add that I hope all come up with a "Formula" for a prosperous New Year!!!: p

Re: Shopping - 38 Fountain and 353 Fastecs?
I will take this thread a different direction now.
This past summer, I had the opportunity to take a 2007 38 Lightning for a ride with the new 700's in it. The boat was not only a missle, but with the staggard motors, the boat flew level. From that day forward, my 353 was for sale. I tried to purchase the forementioned boat, but the cost vs. my check book were in two different zip codes.
Like I said earlier, if you can swing a new 42 with 700's, #6's, or the new 38 with the same set up, you will be the king!!!!!
Formula needs to market a staggerd set up. The non- staggard is old school!!!!!

May I ask the experts a question, how does the FasTech 353 stack up (particularly in handleing and comfort of ride) to the Donzi 35 ZR? I am looking at both boats and would love experienced owners thoughts. Thank you.

check this one out... my Buddie has it and it is very clean!!! new trailer and runs like a top...
on comparing a fountain to a formula is like comparing a mustang to a mercedes... fit and finish on this boat is much closer to my nor-tech than to a fountain

Re: Shopping - 38 Fountain and 353 Fastecs?
agree'd i purchased a 99 353 in november with 502's and stellings boxes and she runs 70.4 (on the limiters) on a garmin 182. i looked at and ran a 35 lightning, 32 fever and a 33 scarab AVS prior to making this decision and the 353 was a much better handling boat than the rest. ran all 4 in similar conditions and made it a point to see how all handled 55-60 mph hard turns and the fastec was much more sure footed then the rest. with minimal trim needed the fastec flys str8 and level. although not as fast it was much bigger both inside and out and the fit and finish was far superior. after searching the market for comparable boats the formula's definitely had a much better resale based on what was originally paid for these boats and what there current values are.
