speed/engine set ups
Anyone know what kind of top speed to expect (realistic) from the following engines in a fastech 35? Assuming they're all propped the same pitch with 4 blades.
502MAG?
502EFI?
502HO?
502MAG?
502EFI?
502HO?

A local guy has a 353/502 mag. Was told the boat would do 70-72 but claims 68 is the best he can get out of it. I would guess 500's would get you near 75.

Thanks Mopower...What I was thinking and not typing...
As for the HP 500's Carbed, or EFI, you will be close to 77-80 mph, depending on the prop (labbed or not). All would be REAL numbers or GPS speeds.

80 real MPH with 500's doesn't happen...period. I've been talking to owners since 2001.
77 and high change is pretty standard, right day, typically 1/2 load or less, FW, no boxes
unless you're on Smith Lake, Alabama
I've got the '02 Formula test report 353 w/ 500 EFI's here somewhere. I'll scan and post it if I can find it.

FW means fresh water, unless it is Smith Lake,Alabama, which in that case means fast water,he-he Actually,Rippem,we don't have faster water,we have faster drivers, cause we have to stay in front of the bass boats.
