Changing Exhaust Tips?

Wondering if anyone here has replaced the Corsa Tips (Looks like there is some sort of Baffle on the inside) w/ just straight thru tips on a 353 or 382? I'm not talking about mufflers, just the tips.

Is there any sound difference? Worth the $ to change them out?

Any info is appreciated?

06 tips are mufflers. Formula went to those when they discontinued Silent Thunder. Straight tips will be much louder.

If you have Captain's Call it is a nice way to go,but if not,you will be loud all the time. Also,if you have Captain's Call with blue motors, the speed switch opens up as you come on plane,so you will be loud at planing speed or above. Just be sure of what you want, cause you may get it. With more and more folks looking for more reasons to hate our loud, fast boats,I find myself trying to keep our boats as quiet as possible.

agreed. I have the Corsa mufflers on my 353 w/500's and the noise is cool for a while but can get annoying after going thru a long no wake zone Mine are not switchable.

I hardly even here an exaust noise at plane speeds. With the swim platform muffling it and the superchargers whisling, you can barley hear the exaust although im sure from out of the boat its pretty loud

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm thinking the straight thru tips are the way to go.

How difficult are they to change? A dealer near me, quoted $400 for Tips and installation. Is that pretty reasonable?

seems like a good deal, Eddiemarine.com lists the tips @ $75 each with flappers. Total of $300 for parts and $100 for labor. Plus you can sell the muffled tips on ebay
