Default Need best 336 props

I have a 95 336 with 525sc's and 1.36 drives
previous owner had them lab finsihed by mercury racing and was frustrated that it "wasn't any faster"
seems typical of a first labbing.

anyway

they are bravo 4 blades supposedly at a true 24" pitch
top speed is 72 at 5000. I have only run up to this a couple times.

what is the sweet spot RPM for 525sc's for top speed( 5000?, 4900, 5100?)

they also spin out a little when planing . does not bother me too much as this relieves some of the torque off the drives when planning, but I wonder if some cupping will reduce this and also give me a little more top end

does cupping add more stern lift?

so what is your best prop setup for the notched transom 336 and blue motors

thanks

Ramb,

Try some 25' Hydromotives. I would think the 525 would spin a 24' bravo mote than 5000 rpm. The hydros will give you a litttle more stern lift.

I missed the 1.36 part. I still think a comparable Hydromotive prop will give you better results. BTW nice boat

Josh, when you going to change your avatar back to a Formula.

I don't know if I really want to spend the bucks on new props or if Ican make the bravos work well. I supppose if I tried some hydros, and they pushed me to that 75mph mark, I'd ahve to get teh wallet out

I really need to find out first if these motors want to run the full 5200 or if my 5000 is in the sweet spot already
Julie at throttle up and others have suggested getting the motors to 5200.

anyone with 525sc experience?
I need data !!! I'm an engineer !!! what's the power curve look like. does it keep climbing like a typical blower motor, if that's the case. I will shoot for 5200.
