If your trashing the stereo anyhow stick a sawzall with a long blade in the gap between the stereo and cut the head unit out of the bracket.
I think that's how a "professional" would do it if he did'nt have the keys

OK, I got it out. For those of you who might have the same year boat, here's what you do. I had Daryl at Formula look into it deeper and he found out that there are no KEYS for this stereo. You have to remove the 2 small screws underneath the unit which you can get to via the CD storage area. Once those screws are out, you actually pull the stereo and the white cabinet around it out together. I tapped mine out with a rubber mallet from behind the lower front edge. Here's a pic to show what I mean. It just slides forward and out. Whew...

Nort, yes I will put a new Kenwood unit there. Mine stopped working after a very bumpy crossing to Catalina in the late afternoon 2 weeks ago. I picked a Kenwood unit that will hook up just like the current one but will add XM radio and an MP3 input on the front. I'm abandoning the CD changer since we don't use it and never will once we get XM. Kenwood Model # is DPX-302. I need to find a white XM antenna if you know of one (the XM tuner comes with a black one) and I need to figure out where to place it.
Did you measure your Bravo prop diameter? I think mine are small at just under 14 3/4".
