Ya I feel pretty lucky about the whole situation. There's no way I could have or would have forked out the kind of dough that's gone into these motors. We're talking top notch everything. We just dropped the motors in a few days ago. Now we're in the process of redoing the fuel lines, plumbing the cooling system. All that stuff. The imco drives are on and ready to rock and roll. I'm hoping to test the boat over new years at Lk Mead. We'll see! We're hoping for low 90's.

We stripped the paint on the motors and painted them mercury racing blue. I also took the exhaust manifolds, superchargers, the lowers on the drive and the intercooler boxes and had them all polished. They look great!
I will find out what the drive ratios are. The engines should be pumping out around 600 hp and should top out around 6000 rpms. We're thinking the 28's will work but we're bringing 26's and 30's to see.

One thing we all need to remember when Nick posts the results is the high elevation, power robbing conditions he is running in. When we shipped him the boat we dropped 2"in prop pitch from stock. So any performance fiqures he posts we have to understand the conditions he operates in. Wish Nick could bring that 292 to our Alabama water

Thanks for the update. Anxious to hear how it performs with that kind of power. Be careful and best of luck!

Robert,
I'll be testing @ Lake Mead which is only 1000 feet above elavation. The local lakes are great for snowmobiling and ice fishing, not so good for boating!

Here's a shot of the imco drives installed on my boat. We had the lowers polished which looks great. The drives are a
1.5 ratio and the motors tap out @ 6000 rpm's so we're thinking 28's to 30's should do the trick

Here are some shots of the motors. Painted Mercury racing blue. Looking good in that 292!

I'm going to install some exhaust gas temp gauges. We bought some bezzels that slant towards the driver. Luckilly the colours match perfectly. The only complaint is the new gauges say livorsi and the current say gafrig.
