NYC trip planning...Help Anyone?

Well, we are back at the planning stages again and have decided we need to be in New York Harbor for the 4th of July. The thoughts of cruising down the Hudson River into New York have always been, well just a thought. Reality is that 2008 is the year to do this for us. We need to stay in a New Jersey Marina I’m told, but it needs to be close to the Statue of Liberty. We would like to see the fireworks from the boat and be able to safely get back to wherever we are staying.

Who knows the area and a nice safe, clean place to stay? We would launch up river near Albany (Newburgh ok?) and make the cruise into New York. This way we would flush the boats out on our way back to Newburgh. Does this sound right?

Anybody that would like to join us is welcome. Right now it looks like Thirdbird and his wife, and Mrs. AXA and myself with the possibility of Mr. and Mrs. 5PM.

Feedback would be GREAT! Names of Marina’s and links to their websites and so on…

Thanks in advance!

AXA and Bird

Liberty Landing Marina. Located right on the Hudson around Jersey City. Great views of Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.

Just checked out Liberty Landing on the net. Looks pretty nice, close to everything, well protected. Check it out Axa.

july 4th

liberty landing is a really nice place, very pricey for that holiday, but while you are at it you can take the water taxi and stay in manhatten, it is a neat weekend

Liberty Landings not cheap, especially over 4th of July, but no marina up there is going to be cheap around that time, but your getting a nice facility.

Liberty Landing is the place to be. Just tell Ron that we sent you and maybe he can hook you up!
