2000 271 fastech - formula
anchor size

GOES BY SIZE AND WEIGHT OF your boat , ROAD / ROPE normely is about 4' to 1' of depth of water also know what type of bottom you'll be boating in anchors do make a differant's , always use a galvenize or plastic coated chain at least 3' from rope to anchor that helps it set on the bottom

I got a west marine 8LB traditional fluke anchor. I store it up front in the anchor locker. Fits nice and tight, doesn't move really have any room to move when it's in there, hasn't caused any sort of damage yet. Anchor rope is 100' by 1/2" and 6' or vinyl coated chain. I would definately recommend the vinyl coated chain, won't scratch the top deck, if you accidently drop it or if it rubs against it.

No damage? You must not boat in the ocean or on a lake with swells ?

I had it out in the Bay for the first time two weekends ago. A little bouncy on the way home at the end of the day, checked out the locker, the anchor hadn't moved. Mainly boat on inland rivers, generally flat, maybe a foot of chop on a "bad" day. Haven't been able to get out the past few weeks, had a water pump go, and now am dealing with some type of power issue. Starboard engine won't turn off.
